Subject: Ruins of Upper Sharstead Farm
Location: Capstone Farm Country Park, Capstone Road, Gillingham, Kent, UK

*The ruins are what remains of two cottages known as Upper Sharstead Farm (sometimes spelt Shawstead).
*These cottages were lived in until 1950 when it was decided they were unsafe possibly due to bomb damage dealt in 1941.
*A map of the site from 1657 showed a single house whilst a map of 1781 showed two houses on the same site.
The area where the lake now stands along with several fields nearby were used to grow hops.
