Jajaajajajajaaa I like the cat's face is funny. The only comment I can make is that it would be more interesting a picture of your entire body as you can use the space underneath. the light is a bit stronger and highlights the white pelage. keep exploring and working! the cats are very good models
Hi! This is a critique from a #FeedbackFrenzy participant.
First off, this is adorable. It's quite a quirky shot that reveals the more unknown side of cats. This is praiseworthy because creativity and catching more unseen things is part of what makes photography great. The other thing that is great with this shot is how the light illuminates the focal point (i.e., the cat) much more than the background (i.e., the floor). This automatically draws the viewer's attention to the right places, which is a proper way to use light. Good job on that.
The one thing that I would like to mention is composition. The picture is somewhat top-heavy. What I mean is this: The cat fills up most of the top half of the frame, and the bottom half is fairly devoid of important content. The best way to frame photos is to use the rule of thirds ([link]) since it is the most pleasing to the eye. As the picture stands at the moment, the focal point (i.e., the cat's head), is exactly half way down the picture. It would be better if it was a bit further down, as in, if it was placed where the bottom 2/3 line (horizontal) and the right-side 2/3 line (vertical) meet. This way, the bottom half would have more content, which balances the picture out more. The other method (maybe it won't work as well, but it's worth a try), is to crop the picture. Crop the bottom with the floor, and crop a bit more of the top. This would let the cat fill up the frame, but the downside of this method is that we lose the sense of environment given by the surroundings.
But all in all, this picture has a lot of potential. It uses light very well to illuminate the details of the cat (fur, expression, patterns, etc). Moreover, it captures a very lively and quirky moment, which is very impressive. Good job!
